The Ci Difference
Different Backgrounds
Different Backgrounds

Dare to be Exotic!

Did you ever want to display your product using the backdrop of a distant location but your budget doesn’t extend far enough to afford an on-location photoshoot? Your product can be transposed onto another photograph by purchasing an image from a photographic stock site.

There are literally millions of photographs to choose from at a variety of prices starting from about 0.99 cents (some even free) to whatever you are prepared to pay. This is by far a much cheaper alternative to shooting on location. These sites all have royalty free images available, which means that you own the images after purchase, to do with whatever you want with them.

Please be mindful of copyright laws though. Simply copying an image off a website does not entitle you to use it without the photographer’s consent, even if there is no copyright symbol or watermark embedded in it. There are image identity software tracking devices (tineye.com) available on the internet now, that can be used to find images that have been used (abused?) in this way. Lawsuits can be expensive!

Using different backgrounds for your products

Remember to use these images judiciously. For instance, you can use a background photo of the Blue Mountains to perhaps promote a backpack but it wouldn’t be in character if you used it to sell pink knickers …….well, not unless you’re targeting pink knicker-wearing backpackers!

Here are a few stock photography sites that offer a wide selection for you to choose from:
